The CGLS (Copernicus Global Land Service) collections currently available in the Terrascope openEO backend will be phased out by the end of August 2026.
CLMS onboarding on CDSE
As part of the ongoing migration towards the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE):
- The CGLS datasets have already been successfully onboarded as CLMS (Copernicus Land Monitoring Service) datasets on CDSE
- They are now accessible via the CDSE STAC catalogue
- The latest, most up-to-date versions of the collections are ready to be used in CDSE openEO (https://openeo.dataspace.copernicus.eu).
Transition from Terrascope to CDSE required
If you are currently using CGLS datasets via Terrascope openEO, we kindly ask you to update your workflows and prepare for the transition to CDSE openEO.
Some migration considerations and practicalities:
- Change the connection URL from https://openeo.vito.be to https://openeo.dataspace.copernicus.eu
- The authentication provider to log in to the openEO service also changes from EGI Check-in to CDSE. On your first log-in attempt, you might have to register a new account on CDSE if you don’t have one already. If you want to work with a service account (“client credentials”), refer to the CDSE documentation on how to request such a service account.
- Scale and offset are now applied automatically on the CLMS collections on CDSE openEO to directly provide physical quantities, while Terrascope openEO only provides digital numbers. You might have to adapt your openEO workflow accordingly.
Some collections will be phased out soon, users are encouraged to switch to the latest versions of the datasets as indicated in the table below.
