Terrascope wins two BeGeo Awards 2026

Terrascope has been honoured with two awards at the BeGeo Awards 2026, receiving recognition in the categories Capacity Building & Education and Geo-intelligence in Action. This double achievement highlights Terrascope’s growing impact within the Belgian and international geospatial ecosystem.

Terrascope BEGEO Awards

The BeGeo Awards celebrate innovative initiatives that leverage geo-intelligence to address societal challenges. This recognition confirms the added value of Terrascope as an open and high-performance platform, enabling users to transform Earth observation data into actionable insights.

Over the past year, Terrascope has continued to evolve significantly. The addition of multiple Sentinel datasets has expanded use cases in agriculture, biodiversity, and environmental monitoring. Cloud-based processing empowers thousands of users to run large-scale analyses efficiently. Through federation with the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, users can now access an even broader range of data resources.

Looking ahead, Terrascope will further integrate high-resolution datasets such as orthophotos and drone imagery, strengthen collaborations with Belgian Federal Scientific Institutes, and introduce an AI agent to lower the barrier for satellite data analysis. A redesigned Terrascope viewer is also underway.

We would like to thank the BeGeo Awards organisers and jury for this recognition, and congratulate all nominees and winners for their contributions to the geospatial community.
