In December 2024, ESA launched the long-awaited Sentinel-1C satellite, bringing the Sentinel-1 observation frequency back to the way it was before the fall-out of Sentinel-1B. The commissioning phase was completed in Q2 of 2025. In order to include the Sentinel-1C imagery in our product catalogs, an update of SNAP (11.0 to 12.0.1) was necessary.
For the sigma0 workflow, only the SNAP update was performed, increasing the product version to V131. For the coherence workflow, we took the opportunity to also update the DEM used from the SRTM to the Copernicus DEM, increasing the product version to V120.
All details, including consistency impacts, are described in the updated ATBD documents. For the sigma0 products, no differences are reported. For the coherence products however, both the updated DEM and a bug fix included in SNAP 12 lead to differences that mainly impact time series analysis. A full reprocessing of the archive is scheduled for Q1 of 2026.
